An interesting feature of the Aigoss is the g-sensor. When the g-sensor is triggered by any sudden jolts, the dash cam automatically stores the captured footage thus ensuring that valuable footage is not accidentally deleted.
Besides that, the Aigoss boasts a variety of other functions such as parking mode. In parking mode, the dash cam switches to auxiliary power and continues recording for a short-period of time.
The Aigoss however is let down by the relatively weak battery which often lasts for 30 minutes or less before going flat. Also, you’ll need to buy your own microSD card as the Aigoss does not ship with one.

A feature which admittedly doesn’t get enough attention is the N4’s weather resistant capacitor. Given that dash cams are regularly exposed to extreme weather conditions i.e. heat and/or cold, the N4’s specially designed weather-proof capacitor makes it an interesting buy.
Despite all these features, the N4 does have some drawbacks. For starters, some N4 owners have noted that the device’s parking mode can be a bit unpredictable. One even mentioned how the N4 failed to capture any footage when his parked car was hit.
Another grouse that users had was the rather poor build-quality. From the rather flimsy construction to the faulty suction device, it’s clear that improvements can be made in this area.

All the while, footage from both front and rear dash cams is captured in 1080p HD.
Of note, the DR02’s night time video recording capabilities are relatively impressive for a budget dash cam. Footage captured was clear and sharp despite low-light conditions.

How much is a dash cam?
Fortunately for most of us, the best dash cams are relatively affordable. In fact, with so many manufacturers on the market, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’re on a tight budget, some of the more affordable budget dash cams can be snapped up for less than $50.
How does a dash cam work?
Dash cams are essentially on-board cameras mounted on a vehicle’s dashboard (hence the name) or centre console that captures driving footage. Thus providing video evidence to the relevant authorities in the event of an accident.
Do dash cams work when the car is off?
It all depends on the model of dash cam used and your vehicle. Some dash cams go into auxiliary power mode when the vehicle is turned off. This allows it to continue recording footage even when the car is parked and turned off.
Other models lack this feature as they draw power directly from the vehicle (usually via the cigarette lighter socket). Again, all this depends on the vehicle that you’re driving. Some manufacturers continue powering cabin electronics even when the engine is turned off.
